1.Side-gaze: Some children usually have normal head position. Eye position, eye movement and refraction and other examinations are not abnormal, only when concentrating on watching TV, the face and eyes to the side of the oblique, double-eyed side look forward gaze, this phenomenon is “side-sightedness”. Children with lateralopia only appear to tilt their heads in the special environment of watching TV, and the eye position examination is fine, not caused by strabismus. Ophthalmologic examination is recommended for children who look at things with a tilted head. Many children with strabismus, especially those with vertical strabismus, do not have an obvious appearance but look at things with a crooked head. This kind of strabismus due to strabismus is called ophthalmic strabismus. It is mainly a kind of compensatory change taken by the affected child to maintain a level view of both eyes, which can cause facial asymmetry and even lateral change of the dorsal column. Clinically, there are many parents who blindly perform neck surgery because they are not too clear that the crooked head is caused by strabismus, resulting in unnecessary pain to the child. 2. Pseudostrabismus: This is an illusion of eye appearance caused by the anomalies of the tissues and organs around the eyes. This is mainly due to the child’s flat and wide nasal bridge and canthus. Children with canthal redundancy have half-moon skin folds on both sides of the nasal root, so that the white of the inner eye is less exposed or even invisible, especially when gazing to one side, the inward-turning cornea is drilled into the nasal bridge, which is often thought of as “internal strabismus”, but in fact, as long as the skin next to the nasal bridge is lifted up with a finger, the appearance of internal strabismus can be eliminated.
