Can you drink honey with diabetes?

Whether or not a diabetic can drink honey cannot be generalized and is based on the patient’s blood sugar control. Honey usually contains a high proportion of glucose and fructose, both of which are monosaccharides that are easily absorbed by the body, so it is best not to consume it if your blood sugar is unstable or high. However, if the patient’s blood glucose control is stable, it is possible to consume some honey of higher purity, but the amount of honey consumed should be controlled, and the intake of other starchy foods should be reduced when consuming honey. In addition, when a patient has symptoms of hypoglycemia, such as panic, cold sweats, hand tremors, etc., if no other suitable sugar-raising food can be found you can consume some honey, which can help relieve the symptoms of hypoglycemia and correct it in time. So, whether you can drink honey or not depends on the blood sugar level of the diabetic patient, if the patient’s blood sugar is high or unstable, it is best not to drink; if the blood sugar is smoothly controlled, you can drink it appropriately, but you need to control the amount and monitor the blood sugar
