Surgical treatment of prostate enlargement outpatientization

Prostatic hyperplasia is known to be the most common disease in older men over 50 years of age with normal testicular function. It is often characterized by increased nocturia, poor urination, recurrent urinary tract infections and renal failure and can be combined with hiatal hernia and hemorrhoids. Since the pioneering of transurethral resection of the prostate in 1960, the pace of minimally invasive treatment of prostate enlargement has not stopped for a moment. Speed, low bleeding, efficacy and low cost are the goals of surgical treatment of prostate enlargement. The rubidium-yttrium laser (Nd:YAG) in 1990, the pulsed holmium laser (Holium) in 1995, the lamp-pumped green laser (Greenlight) in 2000, the solid-state pump thulium laser (2umThulium) in 2003, until today’s semiconductor direct-emitting red laser (HPD). — Technology continues to evolve and medical technology continues to advance. As today’s most advanced [evolution] 980nm red laser and the use of the “Tornado” prostate treatment ultimate fiber optic prostate laser treatment surgery. This is a new achievement in the field of prostate treatment. The procedure can be done with only local anesthesia and outpatient surgery, making minimally invasive prostate treatment “outpatient”, a milestone in the history of prostate treatment. The 980nm is a unique wavelength. Because the laser energy is absorbed by both water and hemoglobin, it provides faster tissue cutting and good hemostasis. Dr. TUCK in the United States has now treated over 250 patients using the Red Laser in an outpatient setting using local anesthesia, with excellent post-operative health. One of the unique advantages of the 980nm red laser system over other lasers is that it can vaporize all types of prostate tissue. Whether it is hemoglobin-rich or highly fibrotic prostate tissue, other lasers are not as effective with this type of prostate tissue. The advent of red laser therapy has made surgical treatment of prostate enlargement an outpatient procedure and a milestone in urology.
