Saffron can be taken in water as prescribed by your doctor. The active ingredients in the infusion are limited and generally do not achieve a therapeutic effect.
Saffron is often used to promote menstruation and blood circulation, and dissipate blood stasis. Decoction is better.
1. Promoting menstruation and blood circulation, used for dysmenorrhea, amenorrhea caused by blood stasis. It is often used in combination with Chuanxiong, Tao Ren and Angelica, such as Tao Hong Si Wu Tang.
2. Dispersing blood stasis, used for chest paralysis (stuffy pain in the chest), heart pain, abdominal pain and stagnation, obstruction in the abdomen (lumps in women’s lower abdomen), stabbing pain in the chest and ribs, etc. It is often used in combination with Radix Cortex Ligustici, Rhizoma Polygoni Multiflori and Radix Angelicae Sinensis. Saffron is often used in combination with hyssop, peach kernel and rhizoma ligustici, as in the formula of Hematophagus and Blood Stasis Tang.
It should be noted that saffron is not suitable for people with bleeding tendency. Also, pregnant women need to use saffron with caution. Adverse effects are not known.
