High blood creatinine may be caused by physiological factors such as muscular athletes, strenuous exercise, or pathologic factors such as hypertensive nephropathy and glomerulonephritis.
Physiological factors, most of them do not need treatment; pathological factors, according to the cause of the disease through rehydration, improve renal perfusion, lowering blood pressure, inhibit the immune system and other comprehensive treatment programs to control the condition, but also according to the blood creatinine level to take symptomatic treatment, if necessary, also need dialysis treatment.
1. Physiological causes: Physiological causes such as muscular athletes or strenuous exercise can lead to elevated blood creatinine. At this point, most do not need treatment. For muscular athletes, regular review of blood creatinine, urine protein quantification and other changes in renal function can be assessed; for blood creatinine elevation due to strenuous exercise, blood creatinine can generally return to normal after rest.
2.Pathological factors
(1) Hypertensive nephropathy: patients with hypertensive nephropathy will have glomerulosclerosis and atrophy, which will lead to high creatinine, and they can be treated with angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors and other medicines as prescribed by doctors, such as captopril, benazepril and so on.
(2) Glomerulonephritis: glomerular damage disease, can lead to high creatinine, the treatment can be anti-infectious (such as amoxicillin, etc.), rehydration, inhibition of immunity (such as prednisone acetate, cyclophosphamide, etc.), lowering blood pressure, reduce proteinuria and other comprehensive treatment. If the blood creatinine progressive elevation reaches the level of uremia, renal replacement therapy is feasible.
There are many other causes of elevated blood creatinine, such as obstructive nephropathy, tumor, diabetes, urinary tract infection and other factors, according to the cause of the disease to take the corresponding program.
If the blood creatinine is found to be elevated, it is recommended to consult the hospital in time and follow the doctor’s instructions for symptomatic treatment.
