On 2014-11-22, the patient’s pulse was weak, both feet were sunken and weak, the hands and feet were like ice, the tongue was pale and dull, there were teeth marks on the large side, the tongue coating was slippery, the evidence belonged to kidney yang weakness and bladder loss, the patient was prescribed Jin Kui Kidney Qi Pill as soup: Shu Di Huang 30g, wine cornelian 15g, yam 15g, Fu Ling 10g, Ze Xie 10g, Dan Pi 10g, cinnamon stick 10g, peach kernel 10g, ephedra 10g, perilla leaf 6g (later down), cooked sapodilla 15g (first decoction 30 min). He was treated with Bai Hu plus Ginseng Tang: 30g of raw gypsum (decoction first), 10g of Zhi Mu, 30g of yam, 10g of roasted licorice, 10g of red ginseng (stewed separately). 3 doses. In addition, the patient’s fever, thirst, nocturnal murmuring, sweating and heat, dry and foul stools, and red face, considering that there may be a deficiency of Yang Qi in the heart and kidneys of Shao-Yin and Yang Ming, as stated in Article 219 of the Treatise on Typhoid: “The three Yangs together, abdominal fullness, body heaviness, difficulty in turning, mouth unkindness, face dirt, delirium, and urination. Sweating is delirium; down is sweating on the forehead, hands and feet rebellious cold; if spontaneous sweating, Bai Hu Tang is the main.” However, the patient’s mouth was dry and he wanted to drink, and sometimes he had a slight chill in his back after sweating, so he had signs of insufficient qi and fluid. The patient took 1 dose and the symptoms were significantly reduced, the frequency of toileting was significantly reduced, and the urine was significantly more fluid than before. After 1 more dose of the original formula, the symptoms of frequent urination almost disappeared, and only 1 to 2 times of urination were needed a night, and the urination was finished in 1 time. A repeat bladder ultrasound showed no residual urine volume in the bladder. Ten days later, the patient returned to the clinic and was asked about the urinary condition, and replied that it was completely normal and did not recur.
