What is the condition of high glutamic aminotransferase 180

The normal value of GAT is 0-40 U/L. When GAT is as high as 180 U/L, it suggests the presence of liver function impairment. Glutaminase is mainly stored in liver cells. When liver cells are ruptured during acute injury, a large amount of glutaminase will be released into the bloodstream, resulting in an increase of glutaminase in the blood. When the blood glutamine aminotransferase is 180 U/L, it generally indicates mild to moderate liver injury. At this point, the patient is advised to actively engage in liver-protecting treatment, actively use liver-protecting medications, and identify the cause of the liver injury to minimize the persistence of liver injury at its source. However, the degree of liver injury should not be judged solely on the basis of the index of AST, but should be evaluated in combination with other indexes of liver function and imaging tests. In addition, patients should consult with a physician before taking medication, and follow the doctor’s instructions, not self-selected drugs for treatment.
