Treatment for Gray Nails

Gray nail is one of the more stubborn nail diseases, mainly caused by fungal infections. For the treatment of gray nails, do not expect a quick cure in the short term. Gray nail treatment must be adhered to for a long period of time, and it is generally believed that the treatment cycle may need to be adhered to for more than 4-6 months. The current recommended treatment for gray nails can be topical application of antifungal creams. If gray nails are accompanied by symptoms of inflammation, such as redness, swelling and pain, in addition to fungal infection, they can be treated with topical application of anti-inflammatory creams or oral anti-inflammatory drugs. If the gray nail is particularly stubborn and persistent, nail removal may also have to be considered. If the symptoms worsen further, surgical removal of the nails may be required, plus a combination of medication to achieve more satisfactory results.
