Clinically there is generally not much difference between glucose and blood sugar testing, and testing blood glucose is generally referred to as blood glucose testing. Blood glucose testing is one of the more common clinical tests, mainly used to monitor the level of glucose control in patients with abnormal glucose tolerance and diabetes, but also can be used to screen people with abnormal blood glucose. The normal value of fasting blood glucose for adults is 3.9~6.1mmol/L, and two hours after meal is less than 7.8mmol/L. If the result of blood glucose test is higher than normal, it is recommended to take further tests such as glucose tolerance test and glycated hemoglobin to make a clear diagnosis. Hyperglycemic state will lead to systemic small vessel lesions, easily increase the risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, may also lead to diabetic nephropathy, diabetic ophthalmopathy, diabetic foot and other serious complications, therefore, the need to actively control blood glucose.
