Patients with mixed hemorrhoids and rectal cancer both have blood in stool symptoms, the differences are as follows: 1. Mixed hemorrhoids: benign disease, usually refers to swelling of the venous mass at the junction of the rectum and anal canal. Due to dry stool, it causes rupture and bleeding of hemorrhoids, resulting in passive blood in stool, which usually manifests as fresh blood attached to the surface of stool, dripping blood after stool or blood on hand paper; 2. Rectal cancer: refers to malignant tumor of rectum, usually accompanied by ulcer and infection, resulting in chronic, active bleeding, which manifests as blood mixed in stool, forming dark purple or vivid purple blood stool.
