Cuscuta can treat impotence, fetal restlessness, seminal emission and other disorders, but the effects of Cuscuta alone are limited. Cuscuta is the dried mature seeds of Southern Cuscuta or Cuscuta sinensis, family Spinaceae, with pungent flavor, sweetness and flatness. It belongs to the liver, kidney and spleen meridians. It is a yang tonic, which can tonify the liver and kidney, consolidate semen and urine (consolidate semen and urine to prevent random leakage), tranquilize the fetus, brighten the eyes and stop diarrhea; externally it is used to eliminate wind and dispel blemishes. Liver and Kidney Deficiency (weakness of the liver and kidneys) is used for liver and kidney deficiency, lumbar and knee soreness (a feeling of soreness and weakness of the waist and knees), impotence and spermatorrhea, urinary loss and frequent urination, kidney deficiency and fetal leakage (a small amount of vaginal bleeding in the early stage of pregnancy), fetal restlessness, dizziness of the eyes and tinnitus, deficiency and diarrhea of the spleen and kidneys; and externally to treat vitiligo. Patients are advised to use the medication under the guidance of a doctor and never take the medication on their own.
