What to do if you miss a day’s dose of Denogestrel tablets

A missed day’s dose of Dinogestrel tablets should be taken as soon as possible with 1 tablet and then continued the next day at the same time as the previous dose. The drug is a new type of progestin, a selective progesterone receptor agonist, which inhibits ovarian function and proliferation of endometrial cells, thus reducing the pain accompanying endometriosis and causing the lesions to shrink and atrophy. Clinically the drug is used in the treatment of endometriosis. Adverse effects such as headache, nausea, weight gain, breast discomfort, and hot flashes have been associated with the use of the drug. It is contraindicated in patients with active venous thromboembolic disease, diabetic patients presenting with vasculopathy, patients with current or previous arterial and cardiovascular disease, vaginal bleeding of unknown origin. If symptoms of arterial or venous thrombosis are present or suspected, treatment should be discontinued immediately. Women with a tendency to develop melasma should avoid exposure to sunlight or ultraviolet radiation while using this product. If medication is required, it should be used under the supervision of a specialist.
