Compounded forcodine is a central, cough suppressant drug mainly used for symptoms of cough caused by common cold, influenza, and acute attacks of acute bronchitis and chronic bronchitis. This drug contains compound preparations, mainly forcodine, phenylpropene, pseudoephedrine, guaiacol glycerol ether and so on. Some patients may have some adverse reactions after taking it. The less common ones are drowsiness, gastrointestinal discomfort, nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, as well as dizziness and lightheadedness. They are also prone to allergic manifestations, itchy limbs, and rashes. In addition, the use of this drug is prohibited for patients with severe hypertension and coronary artery disease.
