The Chinese expert consensus proposed by the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology (CSCO) Pancreatic Cancer Expert Committee was published in 2014 after two years of dedication, referring to relevant domestic and international data and combining with Chinese reality, which is a milestone on the road of standardized diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic cancer in China. Thanks to the kindness of experts, I participated in the whole process of drafting the Consensus, witnessed the rigorous academic spirit of experts from various disciplines, and had the honor to write the imaging part. Unlike the previous Consensus and Guidelines, this Consensus is closer to the reality of China’s medical level and has the following highlights: 1. This Consensus is only for malignant tumors of pancreatic ductal origin, which is often referred to as pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, and it has the common biological characteristics of pancreatic cancer, such as fast growth rate and poor prognosis. It has the common biological characteristics of pancreatic cancer, such as rapid growth and poor prognosis. The latter, although potentially malignant, has a much better prognosis than pancreatic adenocarcinoma. Due to the advancement of imaging technology, the proportion of pancreatic adenocarcinoma in daily detection and pancreatic surgery is increasing, as most patients lack knowledge of these diseases and mistake them for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, which has a very poor prognosis. 2. Standardization of pancreatic imaging procedures and technical points: Nowadays, there are many imaging techniques that can examine the pancreas, but how to use them is scientific. This Consensus reviews the existing imaging techniques and proposes many specifications in technical details, which is believed to have the effect of “getting twice the result with half the effort” in clinical practice. 3, Chinese characteristics of treatment: Chinese medicine, Chinese herbal medicine is a unique Chinese technology, this “consensus” for the first time proposed the related application of treatment value. Although radiotherapy is one of the complementary treatments, its status is increasing, and this Consensus also proposes technical standards.
