What to do if you vomit when you have a cold

When vomiting occurs when you have a cold, you should analyze the specific cause and then deal with it in a targeted manner. If vomiting is induced by a gastrointestinal cold, it is necessary to strengthen the treatment of the cold, ask the patient to pay attention to rest, drink more water appropriately, and give a light and easily digestible soft diet, avoiding spicy and stimulating foods. Patients can also take oral acid-suppressing and stomach-protecting drugs, such as omeprazole capsules, together with necessary anti-emetic treatment such as gastroflucan and domperidone. If the cough is severe and causes nausea and vomiting, the patient should be treated with cough suppressants, such as pulmonary cough oral solution and compound forcodine oral solution. If an elderly person is suffering from cerebral blood supply deficiency induced by a cold, and he/she shows dizziness and vomiting, he/she should be treated with oxygen. For patients with severe symptoms, they should be treated with intravenous drips and nutritional support in a timely manner to avoid electrolyte disorders and deficiency, which are detrimental to the recovery from the cold.
