Heel pain from running is usually harder to recover from on its own. If the pain is caused by inflammation of the fat pad, it can be recovered through rest. If the pain is caused by a fracture or osteophyte of the heel bone, it cannot recover on its own.
Inflammation of the fat pad in the heel is usually caused by sudden strenuous exercise or chronic strain, and the pain is usually relieved after 3 weeks to 6 weeks of rest, during which strenuous lower limb activities and prolonged walking should be avoided as much as possible.
If the heel pain is severe, it can be relieved by applying a towel over ice. If the pain is unbearable, you can go to the hospital for ultrasound, infrared and other physical therapy, or take non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as etoricoxib and ibuprofen under the guidance of the doctor to relieve the pain.
Fractures, osteophytes of the heel bone, Achilles tendon injury, etc., can not be recovered on their own, and generally need to consult a doctor in time for treatment.
Those with severe heel pain need to seek timely medical treatment.
