There are many causes of itching down there in women, most of which are caused by vaginitis or vulvodynia, or mycoplasma infections. Of course vulvar leukoplakia, vulvar eczema, or an allergy to a certain type of sanitary napkin may also cause itching symptoms. If the itching is more obvious, it is best to come to the hospital for routine leucorrhoea and culture of mycoplasma, so that a clear diagnosis can be made and then treated under the guidance of a doctor. If you suspect leukoplakia, you need to confirm the diagnosis by doing pathological tests through vulvar biopsy. If it is inconvenient to come to the hospital, you can also use empirical symptomatic treatment, such as washing the vulva with cleanser or gynecologic cleanser, and then applying hydrocortisone ointment or clotrimazole cream to relieve the symptoms. If the symptoms do not improve significantly after a week of medication, you may still need to come to the hospital.
