What is low body hypotension

Low postural hypotension is a common clinical condition that is a clinical manifestation of abnormal blood pressure regulation function. In hypotension due to low body position, also known as upright hypotension, such patients usually experience a significant drop in blood pressure when they stand up quickly. This disorder is particularly common in the elderly population, where symptoms and manifestations such as dizziness, headache, darkness, syncope, and blurred vision occur after rapid standing up. These patients usually suffer from these conditions due to the development of senile atherosclerosis or the patient’s lack of blood supply to the brain. Postural hypotension is also directly related to neurogenic or neurological regulatory insufficiency. Close attention should be paid to such patients, who should be careful to move as gently and slowly as possible when changing positions to avoid the factors of dizziness, headache or even blackness and sudden collapse, and treatment can be applied pharmacologically or through non-pharmacological treatment.
