Are there medications for HPV?

There are no specific medications for women with HPV infection, but they are treated with antiviral medications and a combination of antibiotics and immunity boosters. HPV infections are more common in vulvar warts or cervical HPV infections. The vulvar warts are low-risk viral infections that require microwave or electric knife surgery to remove the lesion, followed by acyclovir ointment and oral acyclovir. For HPV infection at the cervix, interferon and povidone suppositories can be given alternatively. When the cervix causes atypical hyperplasia, the cervical lesion needs to be removed in time to prevent malignant cervical lesions.
