Only early stage stomach cancer can be cured by surgery. Once metastasis occurs, it will be very difficult to cure and the prognosis is poor. It is recommended that patients should actively cooperate with doctors to strive for surgical treatment. After surgery, chemotherapy can be given as an adjunct, which can limit the cancer foci and destroy the remaining ones, thus preventing recurrence and metastasis of gastric cancer. In the case of advanced gastric cancer, chemotherapy is mainly given to relieve clinical symptoms and improve patients’ quality of life. Therefore, gastric cancer is a very serious disease and patients are advised to achieve early detection, early diagnosis and early treatment in order to cure gastric cancer.
