What to do if your hair falls out badly while breastfeeding

If the amount of hair loss during breastfeeding is not more than 100 hairs per day, it is physiologic and does not require treatment. If the amount of hair loss exceeds 100 per day, it is considered that resting phase alopecia is more likely, and the symptoms can be improved through general treatment and seeking psychological counseling.
During pregnancy, the resting phase is prolonged due to hormonal effects, and hair volume increases temporarily. After delivery, hormone levels slowly return to normal, and the hair gradually enters the regressive phase and begins to fall out. The onset of resting hair loss may be related to changes in hormone levels in the body, poor sleep, malnutrition and other factors.
Resting hair loss is self-limiting, and patients can usually recover on their own by eating a balanced diet, getting enough sleep, keeping a happy mood, and avoiding depression, but if severe postnatal depression occurs, it is recommended to seek psychiatric counseling in a timely manner.
Maternity hair loss also need to rule out androgenetic alopecia, baldness and other diseases, it is recommended that patients go to the hospital in a timely manner to consult, clarify the cause of the disease, standardized treatment.
