Flat polyps of the colon are usually a proliferative condition due to long-term chronic inflammatory irritation.
Flat colon polyps are usually broad-based and extensive, and can usually be detected during colonoscopy. Common symptoms of flat colon polyps include increased bowel movements, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and blood in the stool.
If the size of colon flat polyp<1cm, it is recommended to perform minimally invasive surgery; if the volume of colon flat polyp is relatively large, it should be treated by mucosal stripping surgery and biopsies should be taken for pathologic examination.
