When to start adding baby supplements

Most babies start adding complementary foods at 6 months of age. The addition of complementary foods should be decided according to the infant’s growth and development. Generally, infants weighing up to 6.5~7 kg, able to maintain postural stability, control limb movement, support sitting, and complementary spoon-feeding, etc., at this time, most of them are at the age of 6 months. The types of complementary foods to be added range from single to varied, with only one new food added at a time, and the amount of food added ranges from a small amount to a large amount. Each new food should be adapted for 3 to 5 days to observe whether there are any adverse reactions such as vomiting, diarrhea, rash, etc., and then add other new foods after adapting to one food. Gradually increase the variety of complementary foods. The shape of food should be gradually changed from pureed food to minced food, and the roughness of food should be increased accordingly, such as pureed vegetables and fruits to soft minced fruits and vegetables.
