MMR usually requires two shots. The MMR vaccine consists of a weak strain of measles virus, an attenuated strain of mumps virus, and an attenuated strain of rubella virus. It can be used to prevent mumps, rubella and measles in children. The first dose of MMR vaccine should be given when the baby is eight months old, followed by a second booster dose at one or one-and-a-half years of age, depending on the baby’s condition. Often some babies may react to the MMR vaccine with a slight fever, loss of appetite, slight redness, swelling, pain or the appearance of hard nodules at the injection site. The MMR vaccine is a vaccine within the National Health Program and is mandatory for every child. Before receiving the MMR vaccine, the vaccinee’s personal condition should be reported to the doctor to determine whether the indications for vaccination are met. After vaccination, you should stay for 30 minutes for observation before leaving.
