What to do about mastitis scars

Scars left after mastitis can be lightened by local injections of medications, topical medications, and laser therapy, but scar tissue usually cannot be completely removed.
If it is just after surgery, topical gel or compression bandage can be preferred to reduce the abnormal overgrowth of the scar. Topical gels are only suitable to be started after the stitches have been removed, and if the scar is already old, especially if it has been there for more than six months, then using a topical gel is often not very effective.
If it is old, you can choose local closed injection, which is mainly suitable for the more obvious hyperplasia, and make the scar softer and flatter by injecting drugs.
At the same time, in addition to local injection of drugs and topical gel, you can also choose laser therapy to lighten the scar tissue.
However, both injectable medication, topical gel, and laser therapy can only make the scars lighter, and cannot remove the scars fundamentally.
It is recommended that patients who have scars after mastitis surgery should consult the hospital in time and choose the appropriate way of treatment under the guidance of the doctor.
