Shape of Kidney Stones



Kidney stones are divided into calcium oxalate type, calcium phosphate type, uric acid type, magnesium ammonium phosphate type, cystine type and so on according to different components, and the shape of each stone is different.

1. Calcium oxalate type: brown or white in color, its shape can be similar to the shape of the kidney plant or mulberry-shaped, the surface can have crystalline spiny protrusions.

2. Calcium phosphate type: light gray spherical, concentric layers visible after cutting, hard texture.

3. Uric acid type: smooth spherical, hard texture, can be yellow or red.

4. Magnesium ammonium phosphate type: its shape is variable, more irregular, a few antler-shaped, fragile.

5. Cystine type: it is a smooth surface round ball or antler-shaped yellow stone.

It is recommended to go to the hospital in time if you suspect the presence of stones.
