Since patients on ventilators are more severely ill, there are more indicators to monitor. Routine vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, respiration, temperature, and mental status of the patient need to be monitored. In addition, some of the ventilator-specific parameters need to be monitored, mainly including pressure parameters such as airway pressure, peak airway pressure, airway plateau pressure, and mean airway pressure, as well as tidal volume parameters such as tidal volume, expiratory minute ventilation, expiratory frequency, and air leak volume. If the ventilator works abnormally or the patient’s vital signs fluctuate, it needs to be reported to the doctor immediately for treatment.
