Children’s growth and development standards include height, weight, head circumference, as well as motor ability and language ability in infancy and early childhood, etc. There are different development standards at different times.
1. Height: The average height of a child at birth is 50cm, at 1 year old it is about 75cm, at 2 years old it is about 86cm, and from 2 years old to puberty it can be roughly = age x 7 + 75cm.
2. Weight: The weight of a child born at full term is usually 3~4kg, that of a child less than 6 months old = weight at birth + age at month x 0.7kg, that of a child 7~12 months old = 6kg + age at month x 0.25kg, and that of a child from 2 years old to puberty = age x +8kg.
3. Head circumference: the head circumference of a child is usually 32~34cm when he is born, 46cm when he is 1 year old, 48cm when he is 2 years old, and will reach the head circumference of an adult when he is 15 years old, which is about 54~58cm.
4. Motor ability: mainly within one year of age, generally 2 months to raise their head, 6 months to sit alone, 7 months to roll over, 8 months to crawl, 10 to 11 months to stand alone, 12 months to walk alone, 2 years old can jump on both legs, 3 years old can run and so on.
5. Language ability: newborns can cry, 4 months can laugh out loud, 7 months can make “dad, mom” and other simple sounds, 12 months can call out the names of objects.
Depending on the growth environment, genetics and gender of different children, there may be individual differences. It is recommended to have regular medical checkups and if you find any abnormalities in your child’s growth and development, you should consult a doctor in time so as not to affect his or her growth and development.
