Can four wisdom teeth be extracted together?

Four wisdom teeth can be extracted together. However, this is usually not recommended because there are more considerations and complications associated with the simultaneous extraction of four wisdom teeth than with unilateral extraction. Wisdom teeth, also known as third molars, are located at the very back of the alveolar bone, and are usually recommended to be extracted in time because they are partially blocked or completely buried, which can easily lead to decay and make the adjacent teeth crooked. However, the extraction of four wisdom teeth at one time requires a large amount of anesthetic injection, which will paralyze the lingual nerves bilaterally, risking anesthetic overdose and can restrict tongue movement, which may risk choking if the patient eats and drinks too early. If four wisdom teeth are extracted at the same time, there will be extraction wounds on both sides, which will interfere with normal eating and too much trauma, and there is also the possibility of secondary infection of the extraction wounds. Clinically, only one side of the wisdom tooth is removed at a time or the upper and lower wisdom teeth are removed. After tooth extraction, it is necessary to pay attention to oral hygiene, brush and rinse your mouth regularly to avoid food residues falling into the extraction sockets and causing infection.
