Post-operative precautions for minimally invasive varicose vein surgery treatment

  (1) The elastic bandage is removed after 3 days of compression bandaging, the surgical wound is viewed and rewrapped, and removed after one week. It is recommended to insist on wearing medical elastic stockings daily for 3-6 months after removing the bandage, and take them off at night when resting. (2) There may be mild swelling of the affected limb after surgery, which is normal and usually relieved in 2-8 weeks. If the swelling is serious, the affected limb can be elevated during sleep to promote venous return. (3) Do not soak the affected limb for 1 week after bandage removal, and use a clean towel to dry it after showering. Avoid strenuous exercise for 1-2 months after surgery depending on the recovery situation. (4) After removal of the bandage, some patients can see patches of petechiae on the skin, which is a reflection of bleeding to the skin surface during surgery and can be absorbed after about 1-6 weeks. Small blisters appear on the skin of individual patients, which can be healed in a few days. (5) The hardening of tortuous veins of the affected leg, nodules under the skin and palpable strips under the skin are the early changes after surgery, which can gradually soften and disappear after 3-6 months. (6) Individual patients may experience numbness in the calf or dorsal part of the foot after surgery, because some nerves will be lost inevitably when the incision is made and the varicose vein is treated, and most patients can gradually recover in about 3-6 months. In the long term, it does not affect the movement and other limb functions. (7) After 3-6 months, it is not necessary to wear medical elastic stockings for daily activities, but it is recommended to wear medical elastic stockings to protect the affected limbs when standing for a long time to prevent the recurrence of varicose veins. (8) After discharge from hospital, take aspirin orally once a day for 1 month, 100 mg each time. If symptoms such as leg swelling and soreness appear again in the future, you can take Myzlin for 2-3 weeks to promote venous reflux and relieve symptoms. (9) If you find local redness, swelling, heat and pain or even fever in the affected limb after discharge, please follow up with the vascular surgery department of the hospital in time. (10) For patients with severe ulcers before surgery, it may take one to several months for the ulcers to heal gradually after surgery; skin pigmentation may take several years to fade gradually.
