Efficacy and effects of bevacizumab

Bevacizumab is a targeted anti-angiogenic drug that binds to vascular endothelial growth factor to impede blood vessel growth and inhibit tumor metastasis. Initially, bevacizumab is indicated for the treatment of colorectal cancer in combination with chemotherapy for patients with colorectal cancer. The application of bevacizumab does not require testing for target genes, and in recent years bevacizumab has been used more frequently in lung and breast cancers. Especially for non-small cell lung cancer patients with negative genetic test, it can be used in combination with chemotherapy to treat non-small cell lung cancer. Bevacizumab has certain adverse effects, such as hypertension, gastrointestinal perforation, and bleeding. In addition, there is nephrotic syndrome, which mainly manifests as proteinuria, congestive heart failure and other adverse reactions. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to the adverse reactions when applying bevacizumab.
