What is a mammogram?

The mammogram requires the removal of all metal objects from the body before it is done, and then all clothing and undergarments are removed, so it is better to wear soft cardigans for the examination. For routine examinations, four photographs are taken, one bilateral axial and one bilateral oblique or lateral, and the breast deck is gently clamped to the breast to better expose most of the breast tissue. Patients who are diagnosed with breast adenopathy should be reviewed at any time for early detection of the lesion and then for symptomatic treatment.
