Recovery from hemiplegia of the left hand and foot

There are many ways to recover from hemiplegia of the left hand and left foot. Rehabilitation training is carried out according to the stages of early recovery, middle and late recovery, and the methods include exercise therapy, Chinese medicine rehabilitation physiotherapy, and occupational therapy. 1. Early recovery (1) Upper limb lifting exercise, bedside sitting and bedside standing, alternating flexion and extension of both lower limbs, bridge exercise. (2) Sitting activities: weight-bearing of the upper limb on the affected side; functional activities of the shoulder and elbow joints of the upper limbs on the bilateral upper limbs or hemiplegic side, scapula forward movement; functional activities of the hip and knee joints of the lower limbs on the bilateral lower limbs or hemiplegic side, and bipedal alternation or ankle dorsiflexion movement of the affected foot. (3) Standing activities: standing balance training, weight-bearing on the hemiplegic side of the lower limb (single-leg weight-bearing), bending the hip and knee of the healthy leg, and gradual transition from supported to unsupported hip and knee. 2. Middle and late stage of recovery (1) Upper limb and hand activities: reduce the tension of upper limb flexor muscles before training, and then carry out active and passive scapula forward movement, and carry out fine hand movement at the same time. (2) Lower limb activities: practice active knee extension, active knee flexion and ankle dorsiflexion in different knee flexion positions. (3) Lower limb weight-bearing training as well as walking training. If the patient’s ankle dorsiflexion is weak or pronounced foot inversion is obvious, a bandage or ankle-foot orthosis can be used to bring his/her affected foot to the ankle dorsiflexion position, which is conducive to walking. At the same time, functional recovery can also be promoted through Chinese medicine physiotherapy, walking aids, orthotics and other aids. It is recommended that patients seek timely medical consultation and standardized treatment, so as to avoid delaying the condition.
