Surgical procedures for breast nodules

Breast nodules are concepts of variable nature, as they can represent both benign and malignant, and the surgical procedure depends most of all on the size and, more importantly, on the nature of the nodule. If the nodule is benign, depending on the size it can undergo minimally invasive surgery or open surgery. If the nodule is malignant, a more extensive surgery is required. If the nodule is small, breast-conserving surgery can be chosen depending on the local situation and other influencing factors. If the lump is large or there are other conditions that make breast conservation inappropriate, total mastectomy may also be performed. Therefore, a simple breast nodule cannot determine the surgical procedure. It is necessary to determine with the doctor whether it is benign or malignant before deciding the next surgical procedure and the procedure to go through according to its nature.
