Bad periodontal condition makes it difficult to plant teeth!

Yesterday, a patient asked me with x-rays if he could get a dental implant if his incisor was missing. It is true that dental implants are the best way to restore teeth, but obviously they cannot be planted if the periodontal condition is not good. It’s like planting a tree with bad soil quality. That patient had most of his teeth loose, and he was only in his 40s, but his teeth looked like he was 70 years old. In the end, the treatment plan I made for him was to extract 4 teeth with advanced periodontal disease, and then to have systematic periodontal treatment, and then to have restorative treatment after the periodontal disease was controlled and stabilized.
