The contractile function of the gallbladder can be examined during cholecystography by oral cholecystography, nuclear scanning, and ultrasound 3-D examination. 1. Oral cholecystography: Oral cholecystography reagent is used to check the biliary system and indirectly check the contractile function of the gallbladder by checking the amount of bile discharged from the liver cells after absorbing the reagent. However, this method has too many side effects, radioactive damage and inaccurate results, so it is not recommended to use. 2. Nuclide scanning method: By checking the amount of bile discharged by the liver cells after absorbing the isotope, the flow rate of bile can be checked, and the contractile function of the gallbladder can be checked at the same time. However, this method is more variable and may be affected by serum bilirubin. The result is better than oral cholecystography, but the result is still not very accurate. 3. Ultrasound three-dimensional examination method: patients in an empty stomach without food and water, with ultrasound measurement of the size and diameter of the gallbladder, and then after eating fatty foods, then measure the size and diameter of the gallbladder. If the gallbladder empties, it means that the gallbladder’s contractile function is good. If the gallbladder does not empty, it means that the gallbladder’s contractile function is poor, and laparoscopic cholecystectomy should be considered as a treatment. There are other ways to check the contractility of the gallbladder, and patients are advised to seek further medical advice.
