Dryness syndrome is a systemic disease, and organs outside the gland such as respiratory tract, digestive tract, kidney, muscles, joints and blood vessels may be involved, resulting in various clinical manifestations. Dry mouth, multiple caries, mumps and other symptoms due to salivary gland lesions are called dry mouth syndrome. The symptoms such as dry eyes, foreign body sensation and less tears due to the decrease of mucin secreted by lacrimal gland due to the involvement of lacrimal gland are called ocular dryness.
