What to do about vaginal lesions

Vaginal lesions include vaginal intraepithelial neoplasia, vaginal wall cysts, and vaginal inflammation, which can be treated medically, surgically, or not at all, as follows: i. Vaginal intraepithelial neoplasia: local superficial lesions of the vaginal wall can be excised, but the cut edge must be more than 0.5 cm from the outer edge. This disease is mainly caused by HPV infection and can usually be detected by colposcopy; 2. Vaginal wall cysts: they do not need treatment when they do not affect the patient’s normal life, but need to be treated by surgery as soon as possible when they affect normal life; 3. Vaginal inflammation: vaginal discharge tests are needed to determine which kind of vaginal inflammation is present and to select the right drug for treatment. For example: 1) Mycotic vaginitis can be treated with Dacronin suppositories; 2) Trichomonas and bacterial vaginitis can be treated with Metronidazole.
