There are three formulas for fire-inducing tonics, one each from the Record of Discriminating Evidence, the Secret Record of the Stone Chamber, and the Auspicious Purpose of the Cave of Heaven, and all of them contain Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata, Radix et Rhizoma Gastrodiae Praeparata, Poriae, etc. 1. “Record of Discriminations”: It consists of three taels of Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata, one or two taels of Poria, five coins of Poria, one or two taels of Ophiopogon, and one coin of Fructus Schisandrae Chinensis, and it is taken in water. 2. “Secret Record of the Stone Chamber”: composed of three coins of white mustard seed, four coins of cornelian cherry, one or two coins of ripened earth, one or two coins of Radix et Rhizoma Ginseng, two coins of Bei Wei Wei, four coins of Chinese yam, five coins of Poria, and two coins of cinnamon, and is taken with decoction of water. 3. “Dongtian Aoji”: It is composed of three taels of Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata, one or two taels of Radix Bupleurum, five coins of Poria, one or two taels of Ophiopogon, two coins of Fructus Schisandrae Chinensis, and two coins of Fructus Schisandrae Chinensis, and is taken with decoction.
