How long does it take to heal from multiple posterior cruciate ligament avulsion fractures of the tibia?

Posterior tibial cruciate ligament avulsion fracture with multiple injuries can be healed in 2~3 months in general, and even take about half a year in serious cases.
1. For multiple posterior tibial cruciate ligament avulsion fracture, if the fracture site is not obviously separated and displaced or mildly displaced, generally after conservative treatment, local braking, plaster fixation or brace fixation, it can be started to perform knee flexion and extension exercises without weight bearing in bed in about 4~6 weeks.
If surgical treatment is given, it is usually possible to start exercising in bed in about 2 weeks, get out of bed in about 2 months, and fully weight-bearing activities in 3 months.
2. If the displacement of the fracture site is obvious or the fracture is small, then surgery is needed to heal the fracture. Generally, the fracture is fixed with hollow screws or anchor nails with wires, and bed exercises are usually started in 3~4 weeks after the operation, and the fracture can be weight-bearing out of bed activities in 2 months. For patients with postoperative ligament laxity, reconstruction is also required, and the recovery time is lengthened, up to about half a year.
Posterior tibial cruciate ligament avulsion fracture with multiple injuries is recommended to be actively consulted and treated under the guidance of physicians.
