What does it mean to have a high-density nodule on the prostate?

High-density nodules in the prostate gland represent nodular hyperplasia of higher density in the prostate gland and are usually caused by prostatitis and prostate calcification. High-density nodules are findings on imaging reports such as CT that indicate the presence of tissue that is denser than the surrounding tissue in a normal organ, usually as a result of localized fibrosis or the presence of foci of calcification. High density nodules in the prostate may be caused by the presence of prostate calcification or prostate inflammation. Prostate calcification is mostly caused by prostate hyperplasia and metabolic disorders, most patients do not have clinical symptoms, a few may have bladder irritation signs and present a high density shadow on examination. Repeated long-term prostatitis can cause localized fibrosis or the appearance of calcification leading to imaging showing high density shadows. The appearance of high-density nodules in the prostate, should be timely to the hospital, improve the relevant examination to clarify the cause of the disease, under the guidance of the doctor targeted treatment.
