The method of decoction: before the first decoction of Chinese herbal medicine tablets, soak them in cold water for 30-60 minutes, the amount of soaking water is suitable to submerge the surface of the medicine; when decocting, simmer on a martial arts fire, change to a gentle fire after boiling and start timing, decoct the antidepressant medicine for about 15-20 minutes, and other medicines are usually decocted for 40-50 minutes, then turn off the fire and pour out the medicinal liquid. Then add an appropriate amount of hot water to submerge the herbs for 2-3cm, and carry out the second decoction, the decoction time is about 20-30 minutes or so, turn off the fire and pour out the liquid; finally, mix the two medicinal liquids and take them in portions. Note that some special medicines, such as keel bone and oyster, need to be decocted first for half an hour to one hour; some medicines are easy to be taken later, such as ephedra, mint, and half-sia, etc. Follow the doctor’s instructions.
