Whether or not a rotator cuff tear can recover on its own depends on the extent of the tear; milder tears can heal on their own, but most rotator cuff tears are difficult to heal on their own.
Rotator cuff tears are mainly caused by external factors, but in rare cases, the rotator cuff undergoes degenerative and chronic injuries as the rotator cuff ages, and these injuries cause the tear. Different factors can cause different degrees of rotator cuff tears.
1. Mild rotator cuff tear: mild rotator cuff tear can be healed by the rotator cuff tissue itself, but due to the poor self-healing ability of the rotator cuff tissue in the elderly, it is difficult for rotator cuff tear to recover by itself.
2. Moderate and severe rotator cuff tear: most of the rotator cuff tears belong to moderate and severe tear, due to indirect violence and shoulder joint activities and other factors, it is difficult to heal by itself without standardized treatment. In most cases, the rotator cuff is repaired by arthroscopic rotator cuff repair.
If the rotator cuff is torn, you should minimize the activity of the injured part and go to the regular hospital for medical treatment in time to avoid delaying the condition. Dietary attention should be paid to increase the intake of protein to speed up the recovery.
