Breast pain in late pregnancy is usually a normal physiological phenomenon, but it can not be ruled out that it is caused by certain diseases, such as breast hyperplasia, mammary fibroadenoma, etc., and the cause should be identified in a timely manner.
1. Physiological factors: due to the large amount of estrogen and progesterone secretion in late pregnancy, which stimulates the development of breast ducts and glands, most pregnant women will experience breast enlargement, chest swelling and pain, and some of them may also be accompanied by breast milk secretion, which is a normal physiological phenomenon.
2. Pathological factors:
(1) Mammary hyperplasia is a common benign breast lesion, due to the expansion of blood vessels in the breasts and the increase of local sensitivity in late pregnancy, the patient’s breast pain symptoms are more obvious, which may be accompanied by breast nodules or lumps, and some of them may be combined with nipple discharge.
(2) Mammary fibroadenoma: It is a common benign tumor of female breast, mainly caused by the abnormal increase of sensitivity of fibroblasts to estrogen in the lobules of the mammary gland, which can be manifested as breast lumps, and some of the patients may have symptoms of pain.
In addition, if severe chest pain occurs in the left anterior chest area, it may be caused by cardiovascular disease, but this symptom alone is not enough to diagnose the disease. Patients who experience chest pain should seek prompt medical attention from a physician to clarify the cause.
