Can myopia and presbyopia co-exist?

Presbyopia is defined as presbyopia. Myopia and presbyopia can co-exist and are prone to affect the patient’s quality of life.
Parallel light rays enter the normal eye, and their focus falls exactly on the retina, forming a clear image; in myopia, the focus falls in front of the retina, whereas in presbyopia, the lens hardens and becomes less elastic with age, and the contraction force of the ciliary muscle weakens with age, all of these factors make the adjustment effect weaker, resulting in difficulty in seeing.
For some patients, both myopia and presbyopia may exist, which further affects their quality of life due to the simultaneous existence of two different refractive states.
Usually, myopia can be improved by wearing frame glasses, corneal contact lenses, and can also be treated with surgical procedures such as corneal refractive surgery and artificial lens implantation. Presbyopes can be treated by wearing frame presbyopes or refractive lens surgery or scleral refractive surgery.
People with myopia and presbyopia are advised to actively cooperate with their doctors to take treatment measures in order to improve their vision and quality of life.
