Cirrhotic ascites does not usually have an unclear head. Cirrhosis complicated with hepatic encephalopathy will have the symptom of unclear brain. Hepatic encephalopathy is a metabolic disorder that occurs on the basis of cirrhosis and a manifestation of central nervous system dysfunction. Common triggers include gastrointestinal bleeding, large amount of potassium diuresis, release of peritoneal fluid, high protein diet and infections; hepatic encephalopathy can be divided into 5 stages, which are as follows : Phase 0 Latent period, no abnormalities of behavior and personality, no neurological pathological signs, normal EEG. Stage 1 Prodromal stage, mild personality changes and mental abnormalities, such as anxiety, euphoric agitation, apathy, amnesia, etc., EEG mostly normal. Stage 2 Pre-coma, lethargy, behavioral abnormalities such as urinating and defecating anywhere, slurred speech, dysgraphia and disorientation. There are characteristic abnormalities in the EEG. Stage 3 Lethargy, lethargic but arousable, responsive on awakening, often confused or hallucinating, EEG with abnormal waveforms. Stage 4 Comatose, unconscious, cannot be awakened, EEG is clearly abnormal. Patients presenting with the above are advised to go to a regular hospital for timely therapeutic intervention.
