What’s with the sticky eyes?

Sticky eyes that can’t be wiped clean, i.e., sticky discharge from the corners of the eyes, may be caused by conjunctivitis, chronic dacryocystitis, keratitis and other causes.
1. Conjunctivitis: Inflammation of the conjunctiva will lead to more fibrin exudation from the local tissues, resulting in the formation of sticky secretions, which will pool in the inner corner of the eye through the tear circulation.
2. Chronic Dacryocystitis: Chronic inflammation of the lacrimal sac caused by narrowing or blockage of the nasolacrimal duct, which results in tear retention in the lacrimal sac, accompanied by bacterial infection. Due to the stimulation of inflammation, patients may have sticky secretions.
3. Keratitis: Inflammation caused by the weakening of corneal defense ability, infection, decreased immunity and other reasons, invading the corneal tissue. Localized irritation, eye pain, photophobia, tearing, vision loss, sticky discharge and other symptoms.
Sticky discharge from the corner of the eye can also be seen in other causes, it is recommended that patients go to the hospital in a timely manner, follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment, to avoid delaying the condition.
