Medication is the main treatment for cancer pain. When executing drug pain relief treatment, as family members, we should do the following: 1. Create a comfortable and safe treatment environment. Pain can make the body consume more and metabolize more, and the patients will have anxiety, insomnia, poor appetite, malnutrition, resistance and tolerance decline. Therefore, the room should be kept quiet, clean, well-lit, moderate room temperature and fresh air, so as to alleviate the stimulation of the external factors on the patients and synergize the effect of drugs. At the same time, the furniture and objects in the room should be placed in a convenient and safe way to ensure patient safety. 2.Do a good job of medication guidance to promote patient compliance behavior. Research shows that 72% of patients are afraid of pain medication addiction, and only 48% of patients can take pain medication on time. Therefore, we have to do a good job in the medication instruction to educate the drug dosage, method of taking, role and side effects. Secondly, we not only need to have a clear understanding of addiction ourselves, but also need to help patients recognize the difference between addiction and drug tolerance and somatic dependence, in order to help patients take pain medication on time and in sufficient quantity. 3.Help patients to use drugs correctly. According to the doctor’s instructions must be given to the type of drug, dose, route and time of the accurate. Because persistent pain can make the pain threshold lower, increasing the difficulty of pain relief. Practical observation has proved that reasonable dosage and accurate time of drug administration can eliminate the pain of 80%~90% of cancer patients. Do not easily change the dosage of the drug without the consent of the doctor; do not drink alcohol before or after taking oral painkillers, because alcohol can increase the toxicity of painkillers. When using drugs, the duration of the effect and the patient’s living habits should be taken into consideration, and try to avoid using drugs when the patient is resting. 4, correctly and reliably assess the patient’s pain, to assist the medical staff to develop a reasonable treatment program. Patient pain assessment includes the degree of pain, location, nature, onset and complications. Family members must pay attention to the influence of psychological, social and economic factors in addition to physical factors when assessing the patient’s pain. Evaluate the effectiveness of treatments in reducing pain and report to the physician in a timely manner, making reasonable recommendations to enable timely adjustment of the treatment program.
