What’s wrong with coughing and stomach pain

Coughing that causes stomach pain may be a sensation of stomach pain caused by gastritis or by vibration of the diaphragm due to severe and repeated coughing. If the patient suffers from gastritis, coughing can cause contractions of the gastric body and stomach spasms, exacerbating the stomach pain. In addition, due to the repeated stimulation of inflammation and the patient’s repeated strong coughing, the diaphragm will be repeatedly pulled and contracted, leading to stomach rumbling and increased abdominal pressure, resulting in stomach pain. Therefore, anti-inflammatory drugs (Amoxicillin, Clarithromycin), cough suppressants (Compound Licorice Tablet, Chuanbei Loquat Cream), expectorants (Acetylcysteine, Bromhexine Hydrochloride and Carboxymetholestane) should be taken under the guidance of the doctor, but care should be taken to avoid overdose of the drugs to aggravate the stomach pain. Meanwhile, patients also need to pay attention to drink more water, eat a light diet, and reduce the intake of spicy and irritating foods, such as chili sauce, hot and sour noodles, and fried foods, so as not to aggravate the inflammation.
