The survival time of mild cerebral infarction is related to the number of episodes and its physical condition, and cannot be generalized. Minor cerebral infarction is usually a small penetrating artery in the cerebral hemisphere or deep brainstem that has lesions in the vessel wall based on long-term hypertension, resulting in lumen occlusion and the formation of cystic lesions with a diameter of 0.2-15 mm. In case of a single attack, it usually does not affect normal life expectancy, but minor cerebral infarction is prone to recurrent attacks, thus causing multiple lacunar cerebral infarction with complications such as cognitive impairment, dementia, Parkinson’s syndrome, and swallowing dysfunction, which may have some impact on life expectancy in severe cases. Mild cerebral infarction is mostly combined with risk factors such as hypertension and diabetes, which need to be treated for various factors of cerebrovascular disease. After being discharged from the hospital, one should follow the medical advice to take medication on time and improve bad habits.
